Denbo and Crichton Wear Red To School. This has become an annual yearly event at Denbo Crichton Schools. We call it “Change to change Hearts”. The students are asked to bring in spare change for one week, while having a Jump-a-thon in their gym classes. They are also learning about how important regular exercise is to their hearts. The money they raise is for the American Heart Association. Friday February 6th is National Wear Red Day. All the students and staff are encouraged to wear red to bring awareness to Heart Health. This year there is also a nutrition component added to the week. The students will be invited to try some new fruits and vegetables at lunch in the “just two bites” club. Parent volunteers have helped us as well.
We won’t know how much was raised until I take the huge jar of coins to the TD bank counting station. Last year, between the two schools, we raised almost $600.
